"The Emigrants" W.G. Sebald

wg sebald.jpg
"The Emigrants" is a
malancholic novel about
the lives of 4 different
characters, each of
whom had some sort of
interaction with the
narrator.

Sebald offers us
an enigmatic and fascinating
book written with a great
sensibility.

One of my favourites.

The work by Edward Burtynsky
amazes and makes you think about what
we are doing with our world.

Images with a great documentary value
and exquisite composition.

Esra Roise

Esra Roise.jpg

Esra is a
Norwegian
illustrator with
a very fresh
work in which
she mix different
techniques (such
as collage, drawing,
watercolor,...)

Say cheese!

Brokeback Mountain

brokeback.jpg

I've just known about
Heath Ledger death.
He was a good actor
with a great projection.

Brokeback Mountain
is his best acting
and a fantastic film.

Tuya's Marriege

Great film about a
family of Mongolian shepherds.

No F/X, neither arrogant arty cinema.

Just True cinema.

Don't miss it

The Office (USA)

the office.jpg
I've just seen five episodes of The Office (the american version) and I'm already a fan.

The show takes the form of a documentary
and portrays the daily lives of office employees in
a paper company.
It'd be very boring if the manager wasn't one of
the most grotesque person I can remember.

A must see (a lot of fun)

Broken Social Scene "7/4 Shoreline"

Suggestion: hear very loud this tremendous
song by one of the most interesting bands
from "the neverland of rock": Canada

If you like the song maybe you'll like to seen
Broken Social Scene
perfoming it live
in the Letterman's Show.

Snaps is one of the
craziest Flickr sets.

Dealy moments full of
surrealism, pathos, humor,
absurd and ... tenderness.

Compilled by Ben Pearce,
british illustrator and designer.

Don't miss it.

David Hollenbach

David Hollenbach_1.jpg

Irony and apocalyptic darkness.
The work by the newyorker David Hollenbach
sets to us in front of a mirror refecting very
ugly things.

"Heart it races" Architecture in Helsinki

A good son for a Monday morning,
a crazy video,...
the perfect name for a australian band,
colors and toys.

No más.

Cycling with Style #4 (Couples)

Ciclistas con Estilo_4.jpg

Or how some Urban Riders are afraid of
loneliness so they always move around
in company of another Urban Rider (frecuently
opposite sex)

Bikers with Style

Katherine Streeter

katherine streeter_2.jpg

Now I'm very into Collage.
Cut and paste all the day.
I don't know, it's a very free exercise.
You don't need to know painting, drawing,...
It's just using your imagination and combining
the elements you can get.
I suggest you to try.

Katherine Streeter can be a reference.
Her work is at the same time graphically
strong, very very poetic, funny and ironic.

So good.

"The build up"

Yesterday I heard again one of my favourite
song of the last years.
(In fact I had this song almost forgotten!)
It's called "The build up" by Kings of Convenience
(Featuring Feist)

If you like it I suggest you to see this
video where Feist performs it live:
